The All One Fund
The Lake Family’s All One Fund intends to proactively contribute to an equitable and sustainable future in our own backyards and around the globe. We do this by partnering with strategic and innovative individuals and organizations, with a focus on three broad areas:
Community essentials in the specific areas that we live in and love
Health and happiness through nature, education, culture and sport
Wilderness conservation and nature-based solutions to climate change
We are deeply committed to Indigenous leadership and wisdom in all these areas.

Current Impact Issues
Conservation & Culture
Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAS) are a critically effective approach to wilderness conservation in Canada, while land-based education empowers cultural revitalization and strengthens generations. We are honoured for the opportunity to work with the Clayoquot Campus and Naa’Waya’Sum Garden, Nawalakw Lodge and Healing Village, MakeWay and TSAWOUT First Nation, among others.
Inclusive Sport And Outdoor Recreation
We support agencies that provide inclusive recreational programs, that work to eliminate the barriers that special populations face when accessing sport opportunities, outdoor recreation, and that provide therapeutic experiences in nature, including Power To Be, Giants of Africa, Human Nature Counselling and CanAssist.
Diversity in STEM
Elevating voices that have been underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering and math fields including those of girls and women, LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC people is essential to address environmental challenges and improve the health of individuals and communities. Working closely with St. Margaret’s School and the University of Victoria, this is a emerging area of learning for us.
The Heart of Our Work
Trusting
We choose to work with hope and trust, acknowledging that the current environmental and social outlooks can be daunting. We face the future through trust-based philanthropy, illuminating the impacts of leaders whom we walk alongside with friendship and financial support. The majority of our giving is ongoing, multi-year and unrestricted. We do not require an annual re-application, and our reporting requirements are minimal and flexible, leaving more time for the important work to be done.
Nimble
We are a small core team of two within a family office of four strategic and caring people who know that our greatest impact will come from partnering with high-capacity individuals and organizations, who have a long and respected history in the areas in which they work. We have exceptionally low overhead and can make decisions quickly and with joy. Our legacy will be seen in happier people and healthier oceans, air and land for generations.
